Many claims have been made by the so-called
‘corso-connoisseurs’ in the US with the agenda to add credence to the
descendants from dogs of unknown origin imported by Michael Sottile Sr. Amongst
the many claims one stated that Michael Sottile Sr. is SACC Representative in
the US.
It is claimed that Michael Sottile Sr. is
listed as one of the SACC Delegations from the 1st edition of a book
written by Prof. Chiecchi & Dott. Gualtieri on Cane Corso published in 1993
and now already out of print.
However, what listed in the SACC Delegations
from the 1st edition of this book is Cane Corso Club of America
(CCCA) as SACC Delegation in the US, NOT Michael Sottile Sr., although he is
shown as contact for CCCA. In fact all SACC Delegations listed are persons in names
except CCCA, which is the name of a breed club.
When the fact is shown, instead of the 1st
edition of this book mentioned above, a letter from Dott. S. Gandolfi (SACC) to
Mark Wilson (ICCF) became evidence, quoting a paragraph in this letter but leaving
out the most significant last sentence. To show what is the fact again we have
below this letter from Dott. S. Gandolfi (SACC) to Mark Wilson (ICCF). Do note
that end of page 2 it is stated:
“In U.S.A. we know there are more than one Cane
Corso Club: ICCF, CCCA, FAC. SACC doesn’t have relationship we had with anyone
of them. The only relationship we had was with Mr. Michael Sottile, who wrote
to us 3 or 4 years ago asking a support for a Cane Corso Club in U.S.A. We with
trust, but also with superficiality, gave him the assignment to establish a
Cane Corso Club: We never had any news about him!”
Clearly Sottile Sr. had written to SACC for
establishing a relationship, but NEVER FOLLOW UPWITH SACC after their response.
